Preview: Yung Lean @ Royale 3.21.16

Yung Lean, the 19-year-old rapper, producer and leader of the Sad Boys collective out of Stockholm, Sweden is now on his second U.S. tour following the release of his sophomore record, Warlord. His unique rapping style combines dragged out, almost sung syllables with his monotone voice and Swedish accent. The heavy yet spacey beats that back his songs make them dark and hypnotizing. As the face of emotional rap, Yung Lean’s performance is sure to be filled with both energy and sadness.

Opening the show is Chicago Rapper Adamn Killa, whom Yung Lean teamed up with for his 2014 track “Jug Man.” Similar stylistically (but not as much lyrically) to Sad Boys, he has also worked with Thaiboy Digital and Bladee and gives an American flair to the cloud rap that Yung Lean and Sad Boys have popularized in recent years. This will not be a show to miss – Yung Lean and Adamn Killa should not disappoint.
