A concert that’s sure to captivate even the most hardened of concert-goers, Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9) is bringing their brand of “livetronica” to the House of Blues on October 20. As talented as they are grandiose, STS9’s live performances are unlike anything else out there. “An electronic jam band rocking out to a light show a la Laser Floyd” only begins to scratch the surface of STS9’s modus operandi. It’s no wonder they’ve performed with the likes of Jay-Z and are perennial festival darlings— they always draw a huge, enthusiastic crowd ready to experience sensory overload.

For STS9, it’s not just about the killer jam sessions and amazing audio-visual treats. Along the way, the band has also gotten notice for their charitable causes. This munificence was highlighted in a 2008 piece with CNN, where the members discussed how passionate they are about giving back. They have donated thousands of dollars to various charities (including portions of ticket proceeds), registered voters and organized food drives.

So, crack those glow sticks and bust a move. Because you’ve never felt this good about getting down with your bad self.

Check out songs from STS9’s latest EP, When the Dust Settles and get your tickets for their October 20 show at the House of Blues.
