Neon Indian Secretly Playing in the South End
by Sammy Kaufman (Communications), published October 1st 2010
My new role as an investigative journalist has taught me only one lesson. Like most things in life, it is not your intellect and skill level that leads you to ultimate success but instead, the people you know. Or if you’re more a glass is half full kind of person just go with ‘two heads are better than one’. Either way, it was the help of a friend and not my investigative skills that discovered the location of Neon Indian’s hidden concert.
When we last got together I was on the prowl for the Urban Outfitters and Levis sponsored event: The Secret Generator Series. A thread of concerts each powered by a single generator, and as a result, able to occur absolutely anywhere.
Recently, Urban Outfitter’s released three photo hints on their blog to assist potential concert goers in discovering this mystery venue.
Hint 1
Hint 2
Hint 3
I don’t know about everyone else but this meant shit to me. Thankfully, my Boston savvy friends were kind enough to fill me in on the venue’s location.
The results? Neon Indian will be performing this Sunday, October 3rd at 4pm in the South End on Harrison Avenue (somewhere between 425 and 528) in an old MBTA bus garage near the SoWa Open Market.
Or at least that’s what my sources say so let’s go and hope for the best? Deal.
